One of our clients was using an outside billing service for patient claims and collections. The billing service had an automatic policy to send any uncollected balances after 60 days to bad debts. The client was not aware of this issue until we discovered the problem. Upon learning of this situation we worked with the office staff to collect some of the money due. The bad debt balance was $50,000 when the problem was discovered and we were able to collect $30,000 of that amount. The rest was noncollectable due to the balances being to old, and it would cost the client more to attempt to collect, or the patients passing away.

I have a Bachelor’s in Accounting and a Master’s degree in financial Planning. I am also an Enrolled Agent, which are America’s tax experts.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I do have base fees and the prices are adjusted on a case by case basis. Some clients require more work and time than others, therefore the fee is adjusted based on the complexity of each project.
How did you get started in this business?
I worked for two employers and determined that I wanted to branch out on my own and build the type of business I wanted. My time and effort was not being appreciated elsewhere, therefore I decided to put that time and effort into my own venture.
