Illinois Tax Group
About
Unlike most other tax offices, we are a year round service. We are available all year long at our office which has been at the same location for 20 years now. We are experts in our field and help not only individuals but also small businesses, corporations, LLC's, Estates and all other types of tax returns. We stand behind our work and will never leave you to figure things out on your own.
We love being able to help individuals with the issues that are complex and time consuming for the average taxpayer. We also love being able to solve financial/tax issues that clients are overwhelmed with and feel there is no resolution for them until they've had a chance to sit with us and allow us the opportunity to demonstrate how good we are compared to other tax accountants who don't know the tax laws and legal loopholes in which to save a taxpayer money.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, we like to have the client call the office to schedule an appointment. The office number is 815-729-3900. At the appointment we ask them to bring everything they feel is pertinent to their tax filing so we can at very least get the return started, assess the situation and recommend/request any further documenation or information needed to complete the process.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are trained in all aspects of taxation. We have been accountants for over 25 years and have been at our current location for 20 of those years. We are qualified not only in tax preparation but also in tax resolution for those who have collection issues with IRS. We also are trained in all business aspects including company/corporation/LLC formations, renewals and management.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We do not offer a standard pricing system. However, our services are billed through computer pricing based on what is required for each individuals tax work. We are priced very similar to any competitor offering quality, experienced tax knowledge and services. We are always transparent however, and tell the client what the expected charges are as we approach the completion of the work. We also offer a 100% no obligation policy. Once we've completed the work should the client not wish to accept the work they are under no obligation to proceed with us.
How did you get started in this business?
Al, the owner holds a Masters Degree in Accounting as well as a degree in Finance. He has been a self employed accountant right out of college and has never turned back! Al and his office have become recognized as the leading tax office in the Joliet area. We stand by our work and we provide said work with quality and dignity.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have worked with thousands of individual taxpayers as well as small business owners and corporate entities. We have also worked with non for profit organizations, estates and similar organizations.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We are fond of having completed our 20th tax season. Over the years we have watched many companies come and go. We have witnessed so called "experts" get sanctioned by IRS for providing fraudulent services to our community. We believe our name and track record speaks for itself. Our 20 years is a milestone we are very proud of.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
As with any professional service we recommend customers ask around as well as get the facts that the preparer they intend to use is in fact reputable. Said preparer should be registerd with IRS as a recognized tax preparer. Customers should never accept the services from someone who designates their tax forms as "Self-prepared". These individuals are not accredited tax preparers who are simply trying to copy the services of a trained professional and passing all of the responsibilty onto the tax payer.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
They should think about their personal tax situation and how it has changed from year to year. They should raise any concerns regarding updates and news they've heard of but should never trust the neighbor, friends, coworkers who make you believe that every taxpayer or tax experience is the same. Taxation is unique to each individual, family, business. There is no carbon copy from one taxpayer to another.
