What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Clients use my website or email address to schedule an appointment to discuss their financial goals and concerns. After the initial consultation, I send out a proposal based on the clients goals and concerns that lays out all of my fees. Once I receive a signed contract and initial payment I will work with the client to come up with a bimonthly schedule to stay on top of their goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor degree in Accounting. I have been a tax prepare for +25yrs. I am a contracted Personal Accountant for a few private clients and business owners.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My base fee starts at $225 to efile both the federal and state returns.
There may be additional fees based on specific needs of each client.
How did you get started in this business?
I loved math growing up. So when I was 16yrs old my dad taught me how to do taxes. Over the years my passion for financial literacy has grown for myself and others. I continued to build my business while working, going to school and raising a kid.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with a variety of customers that range from the average blue collar worker to a well off real estate investor. Sprinkled in with a few entrepreneurs with and without brick and mortar businesses.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Take you time in your selection as finances are a very intimate thing to discuss with someone. Make sure you are ready to be financially honest with you Accountant.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Decide what services will be required. Are you looking for someone who offers only tax preparation? Or do you need a full charge bookkeeper, payroll assistant, accounts payable/receivable clerk, etc? Do you want/need a reactive or proactive professional?
