    Frequently asked questions

Our process begins with this proposal, followed by a written agreement to be signed that signifies a formal commencement of work. (1) For custom designs, you will be sent a link to our online design questionnaire. After careful review of your responses and further brainstorming on our end, we'll schedule a kickoff virtual meeting. (2) During this call we will probe for clarification as needed and will propose ideas and options for the web design. The goal is to have enough information by the end of the call to be able to start the design mockup phase. (3) The mockup begins as a blank canvas in Photoshop and results in a unique representation of the home page, as well as a sample of one of the inside pages. A screenshot of the mockup will be emailed to you for your review. If additional changes are needed, a round of revision is included. (4) Upon approval of the mockup, we will begin the build-out phase. During this phase we will create a master template out of the approved design, and all pages will be created and populated with supplied content. For semi-custom designs, much of the same will happen as for custom, but the design mockup stage is skipped entirely. After the master template is created, the remaining pages will be built and populated with the supplied content. Responsive development will also happen during the build-out stage. (5,6) And finally, when the site is as far along as we can go, you will be given a temporary link to access the site. This is when we dot the i's and cross the t's and get it 100% ready. (7) Once it's ready to go live, we will step through our golive checklist and end up with a fully live website. We will handle the DNS changes to make this happen. (8) At around the same time, we will also host a net meeting with you (or whomever will be maintaining the site) for a demo of the control panel. Following this screen sharing demo, you can also find help in the knowledge base section of the CMS for future reference. And in case that isn't enough, you are welcome to email the support team for one-on-one assistance.

I'm a PHP Web Developer with 15+ yrs experience developing front & backend web projects, including MySQL DB integration. I have strong web design and UI skills as well as client-side scripting of Javascript/AJAX.

We offer two options: custom design (which means a design completely from scratch, not from a template) for $4,790. And semi-custom (which skips the design stage and uses a personalized theme to match your brand) for $1,495. Monthly costs of $29 covers web hosting, a CMS, client support, and site updates.

After graduating from UofM in '97 and moving to Chicago, I freelanced in real estate marketing, offering graphic/web design & photography. Over the next few years, as the Internet started to blossom, I learned web development skills and built my Real Estate Platform in the early 2000's (what today is referred to as a CMS). As the housing market took a downward turn in 2008, I shifted my primary market to small businesses and incorporated as JellyNeck Solutions, Inc. To accommodate the needs of this new market, I expanded my team and revamped the platform to include dozens of built-in features unique to small business websites. Known as the Small Business Platform, this version of the CMS was a "visual" experience allowing clients to edit their site ON their site instead of in a traditional text box. Over time the platform underwent continuous upgrades and feature additions, resulting in a rapid growth of business.

Then in 2016, finishing touches to a completely revamped platform finished after about three years of development. This new platform builds off of previous features and incorporates all the advantages of modern web browsers and HTML5. For the first time ever, it allows for nearly 100% of the site maintenance to be made visually on the website, not in a control panel. To encourage growth of the platform, it was branded as OcularCMS and given its own website (ocularcms.com), where anyone can go to quickly and easily build a site for themselves or their clients.

We've worked with hundreds of clients that range in size from one to hundreds, from next-to-no income to millions in revenue. And the industries are as diverse as our websites.

Find a person or group that will put your interests first, and that won't try to sell something that isn't needed. I network a lot and find it's the best way to find professionals that you can trust.

First and foremost, ask what it is you do and why you do it. If you can't answer a few basic questions about your business within a few seconds, it's probably a good idea to sit down and create or review your business plan.
