Emily Edelman, LCSW
About
My approach is individually tailored for each client. I believe the ability to connect with others relies on providing a safe, secure environment to discuss personal issues. Relationships and associated experiences often reveal themselves in the daily decisions we make and our day-to-day interactions with others. Therefore, understanding our experiences and relationships as well as being self-aware are the foundations of a balanced well-being and healthy life.
My treatment approach follows the belief that understanding relationships, past experiences, current environments are important when working on personal awareness and growth. Therapy is most beneficial when clients and therapists work collaboratively to evaluate, challenge, and reconstruct systems-- all of which leads to a healthier and more fulfilling life.
I am able to refer clients to psychiatrists for psychiatric evaluation(s) and medication management if it is collectively deemed appropriate/beneficial by both my client and myself.
