The Art Of Healing Services
About
My experience is ‘in the field’ not office therapy. This means I coached others how to use skills In real life situations. I have been successful in transitioning this to online for individuals, including children of all ages, families and couples
I enjoy interacting with people who are seeking growth and knowledge. I admire and learn from those who have the will and find the strength to make the changes to improve their lives

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first step is to schedule a free phone assessment to identify your expectations and review my qualifications. If the decision is to move forward, we will then determine a fee and schedule the first session
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a degree in Human Behavior and have years of professional experience and advanced training as a Behavioral Specialist.
This type of training, which is referred to as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on teaching techniques to help others develop positive behaviors and thinking patterns
My practice focuses on:
Decreasing anxiety and depression through advanced coping skills and adjusted thinking patterns
Building self-esteem through positive self awareness, confidence and reconnection
Decison making skills based on consequences and rewards
Setting and meeting goals while working through set backs and obstacles
Using positive communication strategies to obtain desired outcomes.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
The base fee is $50 per hour. This amount can be adjusted depending on income, insurance and circumstance. Individual fees will be determined at time of assessment
How did you get started in this business?
I started this career as an art teacher! I taught for a well established art center for several years and when the opportunity to teach in outreach programs was presented I jumped aboard. I had always been interested in Art as Therapy and found this opportunity as a way into this career.
I found this intensly rewarding, so I worked in Child Welfare which lead to Behavioral Therapy for parents and children diagnosed with Oppositional Defiant Disorder, PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Adjustment Disorder, Conduct Disorder, OCD and ADHD.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with couples, families, adults and children diagnosed with Oppositional Defiant Disorder, PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Adjustment Disorder, Conduct Disorder, OCD and ADHD.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I enjoy painting! It doesn't always look good but I love the process!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
After acknowledging the great job of taking the first step of considering therapy, my advice would be to keep moving forward! Take the second step and have a conversation with a counselor. Then you'll have more information to decide if counseling is something you would benefit from. Also, if you don't feel a counselors personality or beliefs are a good fit for you, move on and find someone you can connect with
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
I think customers should think through questions after or during the initial conversation with the counselor. If customers think through questions before, they won't have as much information to make the appropriate decision
