I have worked in the financial industry in the areas of banking, accounting, operational management, and loans. I have a business degree in Accounting, am a Certified e-banking Specialist, and am a Certified Tax Professional Specialist. In 2019, I started J Cole Tax & Services. My vision is to become one of the top tax professionals in the industry, winning and keeping clients. Our team continues annual training throughout the year to stay well-educated in the tax industry. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically like to build professional relationships with clients. I have a small panel of questions I ask to find out how to better serve my client's needs. Determine filing status and what forms are needed. Clients will need to complete an intake form, thereafter, may send information via mobile app, email, fax, text, or US mail.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Business Accounting degree, Certified Professional Tax Preparation Specialist, Operations, Public Notary, etc.

Prices are based on forms filed and/or the type of service. Individual or small business. Bookkeeping starts at $295.
How did you get started in this business?
Initially, I started doing taxes while in school in 1998 while taking business courses. I did it as a hobby for college students and individuals who did not understand taxes. I always had multiple jobs so taxes was a side gig to help out friends and family. I never considered being a tax professional as a job or career even though I was good at it. It was really my adviser, students, and clients who convinced me to go into business for myself. They would always say, "If you do what you love you will never get tired of it." That is why J Cole Tax & Services LLC exists today. Thank you to everyone who believed in me.

I have worked with commercial drivers, nurses, small business owners, warehouse workers, social security disability, social security, retired military, etc
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I would say be diligent, positive, and honest.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Customers should know their filing status if they have dependents, deductions, mortgage interest, taxes, property, etc. If so provide accurate information to the tax preparer including all receipts and documents. Most tax professionals will ask questions or know what they will need from you based on what forms you are filing. AGI for the previous tax year.
