Our business clients benefit from financial performance reviews to determine their financial health. Our business clients also have access to our business advisory services to help increase sales and cash flow, organize a team that works great together, and eventually have a business that can run without them! While we work with all kinds of people and businesses, our specialty is in providing accounting, financial statement audit, and advisory services to franchised businesses.
The accounting, tax, and advisory work we do is dynamic and challenging. We enjoy meeting all kinds of people, constantly learning, and receiving the reward of helping people and businesses.

We offer a complimentary initial meeting with potential clients to determine if we're a good fit for each other. We quote fixed fees for many of our services rather than hourly fees to avoid any surprises and can provide a fee quote based on actual issues to be addressed. Upon mutual acceptance, we ask for a signed engagement letter for certain business services.
Our people have worked for international and local CPA firms, for Fortune 500 companies, and as controllers in private companies. Our firm's majority owner, Michael Allen, has a bachelor's degree in accounting and masters degrees in both accounting systems and taxation. CPAs in our firm obtain 40 hours of continuing education each year to remain current with changing tax laws and accounting standards and are members of the AICPA and the GSCPA, abiding by a strict code of ethics.
No two people or businesses are exactly the same. Therefore, we provide fixed fees for most of our services based on the issues to be addressed. Fixed fees are provided for financial statement audit and reviews, business accounting, income tax return preparation, and various other tax returns. We have hourly fees for open-ended services such as tax planning and business plan assistance.
The firm's majority owner, Michael Allen recognized the tremendous opportunity to help individuals and businesses improve their financial health and achieve their goals. Accordingly, in 2006 he started Allen & Company with a couple of long-standing clients and with a purchase of a client list.
We work with people of all income levels and tax situations as well as businesses in many different industries. However, our focus is people who appreciate a relationship with their accounting firm throughout the year and who are proactive in attaining their goals. Our niche is working with franchised businesses since we have people who have worked as controllers in quick service restaurant businesses, have perforrmed financial statement audits for such businesses, and understand the unique challenges facing frachised businesses.
Our firm co-sponsored a Dinner and Game Night where the people attending enjoyed a wonderful meal, played a board game, and learned the five ways to grow their business in a fun and relaxing atmosphere!
If seeking help with business accounting, we recommend choosing a CPA firm, of course, over a bookkeeping firm or a non-CPA accounting firm. CPAs are highly educated, experienced, have credentials, and abide by a strict code of ethics.
Ensure that the professional is a good listener. Ask them for an introductory meeting and then assess whether they do all the talking rather than listening to you.
Ensure that the firm is proactive. Can they help you beyond simply preparing financial statements and tax returns?
Ensure that the firm has special experience with your tax situation or with your business' industry.
Ensure that ther firm's billing rates are reasonable. There certainly is a trust factor that develops after working with a particular firm over time, but it's amazing that some people never shop around a bit just to see if what they're paying is worth the value received.
Ensure that the professional provides added-value services to help you think strategically about your business or tax situation and partner with you on an advisory basis to improve your financial health.
