Frequently asked questions
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master's Degree from Liberty Unviersity in Marriage and Family Counseling. I am also a Certifed Anger Management Specialist.
In addition to the education listed above. I have engaged in numerous hours of training in topics such as anxiety, depression, PTSD and trauma, stress management and job related issues.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
At this time, I am not currently accepting insurance. However, if a client does have a insurance, I will be more than happy to print out a detailed invoice in which they can forward to his/her insurance company for reimbursement.
The prices for sessions range from $50.00 to $125.00. This pricing depends on whether the client is an individual, couple or family.
How did you get started in this business?
As a child, I was always the one that family members and friends would come to ask for advice or if they just needed someone to listen. As the years grew by, my family members encouraged me to seek counseling as a profession, but I refused. However, God had other plans for me. One day, I was in my office at work, God spoke to me that counseling is what He wanted me to do. I followed what He told me to do. I am glad that I did, I love doing what I do. I see it as doing something bigger than myself.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have had the privilege of working with a diverse group of individuals from all walks of life and socioeconomic backgrounds.
It is an honor for me to work with veterans and their families. This particualr group of men and women have sacrificied much for their countries and they as well as other clients deserve the best treatment I have to give.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
It is in my professional opinion that a client and therapist are able to connect with each other. If clilent and therepist are not able to connect, it would hinder the therapeutic process. For this reason, I beleive the client should consider asking the following questions:
1. How long have you been practicing?
2. What is your success rate in working with clients with my concerns?
3. What approaches do you utilize with your clients?
4. What interventions do you utilize?
5. How long will I be in therapy?
6. Do you have a sliding fee scale should I need one?
7. Do you allow clients to text and email you?
8. Are you required to attend trainings to keep up to date on the lastest trends in therapy?
