At Mobile Tax Associates we use a Client Service Agreement for customers to sign with terms and conditions, payment methods for fees and also a Client Intake Worksheet to cover all income, credits, deductions and other items needed to prepare their return correctly and accurately.

I have worked 11 years in the Internal Revenue Service in their Wage and Investment Division as an Accounts Specialist and also participated in the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program in 2017 and 2018 as a tax preparer. My experience in tax preparation includes 40 years in individual taxes, 5 years in partnerships and 5 years in non-resident tax returns.
My Certification in 2019 as a IRS Annual Filing Season Program participant gives me the ability to represent taxpayers.
Recently completed the C&C Forensic Training and applied to be a Certifying Acceptance Agent for ITIN applications.

How did you get started in this business?
When Mobile Tax Associates was formed in 2018, it was based on a belief in helping others, to work with integrity, serve the general public and educate clients. A portion of every client fee is donated to 4 domestic and 4 international charities to make a difference in the World.
My background includes 21 years of service in the US Army as a finance and accounting supervisor, in addition to 5 years with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida as a Billing and Accounts Specialist, and later 11 years with the IRS in individual and small business tax acccounts management.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with customers from all income levels, from seniors on pensions only to others with complex personal and business tax returns. My experience also includes 5 years as a tax manager for a partnership which included two foreign partners and sales and use tax accounts.
Our business has grown 19% over the past year, and we hope to expand our services into the Spanish population to include ITIN applications and renewals, bookkeeping, tax seminars and tax consulting.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am fond of the local Better Business Bureau events in Gwinnett County, Georgia.
In addition, being a member of the Veteran Owned Business Directory is a great way to expand business in the marketplace.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I would recommend to see if they are listed in the IRS nation-wide tax preparer directory, and also check for their status with the Better Business Bureau. There is also a National Directory of Registered Tax Return Preparers that a customer can research prior to selecting their tax person.
Robert Allen Gorby is registered in all of the above to include the State of New York.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What is their filing status at the end of the year, meaning whether single, married, head of household.
Think about all of their total income during the year, and especially to gather all of their expense items with supporting documents. This second process can be time-consuming so we recommend trying to do this on a monthly or quarterly basis instead of waiting to the end of the year.
