What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Client contacts me by email, text, phone or through my new client portal to register at https://app.mytaxbutler.com/auth/invite/shyrellstaxReliableRefund, answer a questionaire, upload documents and/or text or email them, I prepare and efile their taxes unless you're not eligible for efile. No need for an office visit nor appointment, clients can sit in the privacy of their own home at any time. I take my fee from your refund or you can pay with cash, check (I wait for it to clear before filing) credit or debit card, Zelle, CashApp, etc.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Certified, over 25 years experience (preparing since the 1990's), licensed, bonded & Insured. Graduated from IRSC working with John Jude, CPA, CTA for many years preparing returns for large companies such as Walmart, Kmart, Farms, OTC truck drivers, etc. When John moved, his wife told me I should continue. I attend annual IRS Tax classes, IRS seminars and CTLE classes. I also hold seminars and teach along with preparing accounting for businesses getting them ready for Tax season all year.

How did you get started in this business?
By the CPA I learned from many years ago, he and his wife encouraged me due to my ability with numbers (called me a little Private Investigator when it comes to numbers), very efficient completing returns and awesome client relationships! Clients always requested me the next year!

ALL types! Specialize in difficult returns, many situations, small biz, sale of home, amended returns, offer letters, the "simple" returns and more... Being in the Tax field this many years, I've ran across almost every situation, I "think"...
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The upcoming opening of the Ardie R. Copas State Veterans Nursing Home named in honor of my Dad, Sgt. Ardie Ray Copas, killed in action in Vietnam, posthumous Medal of Honor recipient!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Do they offer Savings Programs at a discounted rate? Do they offer FREE quotes? Do they offer FREE prior year "look-over" and referral fees?
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
There are so many tax offices and individuals preparing taxes these days that you should definately make sure they have a PTIN (if you hire me I'll explain what that is and that EVERY tax preparer MUST have), their OWN tax prep software (not using TurboTax or another program, they're not licensed to use, to prepare your taxes) and that they're licensed and insured along with being bonded!
