Boardwalk Capital Management
About
Boardwalk Capital specializes in helping investors connect their finances with their values. We help you articulate what you care most about, and build an investment plan to achieve both your financial objectives and your social ones.
We are the Southeast’s first wealth management firm that is also a Certified BCorporation. What’s a BCorp? It’s a company that strives to be a good steward of the environment and an exemplary corporate citizen. And that has been audited and scored to measure its progress.
We’re impact investors and hope to help you be one, too, while also achieving your financial goals.
We’re very fortunate to be able to help people while making a positive impact on the world around us. There’s nothing quite like helping a client to cement the impact they’d like to make and then making it happen. Our clients own solar farms, affordable housing developments, private companies and organic farms. They invest in funds that target the best places to work, companies with more women in management or firms that invest in clean technology. Driven by the ciient, discovered by us. It’s real and it’s meaningful.

How did you get started in this business?
In 1987, I joined the Trust Investment Department of Wachovia Bank straight out of the University of Virginia, at the age of 22. By 1993, I was creating their first international (emerging market) mutual fund, which I managed until 2001. In its first year, the fund was the #2 ranked emerging markets fund in the country.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with all types of investors. From young to very elderly. From athletes and entertainers to Fortune 500 CEOs. From environmentalists to pure capitalists. My mutual fund investors were corporations, foundations, families and individuals.
Diversity. It’s what makes the world go round.
