Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once a call or e-mail comes in, I set an appointment, usually in office unless potential client is out of town. At that appointment I gather the facts and discuss with the client their options. We decide a course of action and cost for services. I also will consult iwth potential clients via the phone or Zoom if they prefer.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
College degree and graduate of Nova Law School, now know as Nova Southeastern in Ft. Lauderdale with Juris Doctor degreee. Continuous CLE - coninuing legal education. Mediation services for Family Law disputes.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My fee structure varies depending on the type of case.
How did you get started in this business?
I wanted to be a lawyer way back in the seventh grade. I was very interested in my civics class and the Constitution. That naturally translated to a career in the law.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Being admitted to the US Supreme Court. Being in that courthouse, finally, as I had wanted to be able to be there since I was in the seventh grade. Getting to listen to an opinion read by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg. Getting to listen to oral arguement on another case.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Be organized. Keep a log of events that may be pertinent for trial. Be prepared to compromise so that perhaps the case can be settled. Fighting for years on end is no fund for anyone, especially children.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
For a divorce or estate planning, client needs to know what assets they own or may be entitled to receive, what type of distribution they desire and any special circumstances.
