I specialize in working with couples who are struggling to reconnect and revitalize their relationship. My approach is based on one credo, "The Quality of Your Relationships Determines the Quality of Your Life." The best investment we can make is improving our relationships. Clients seek guidance when they are feeling discouraged and disconnected in their relationships. I work with my clients to help them acquire self knowledge and develop skills to navigate the complexities of their close relationships. My goal for my clients is recognizing the destructive, controlling behaviors that are disconnecting them from their significant others and then replacing them with caring, cooperative behaviors that help them forge satisfying, successful connections. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Clients contact me to set up an initial session. During the initial session, we discuss what the individual or couple is looking to accomplish by working with me. If a couple is seeking assistance with thier relationship, both persons need to be present for the initial session. After the initial session, I typically meet with each partner for an individual session in order to explore individual histories and issues that could be contributing to current relationship struggles and strengths. Once the individual sessions are complete, I work with the couple.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy that I earned in 2001. I also have two Masters degrees in Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy. I have worked in the mental health field for over 25 years and specialize in working with couples and individuals who are looking to develop the skills to build satisfying, healthy relationships.

Becuase I do not accept insurance, I work on a sliding scale from $90-$150/session. My clients decide what works for their budget.
How did you get started in this business?
I started 25 years ago while I was earning my doctorate at Florida State University. I have worked in multiple clinical settings as well as in colleges and universities.
