About

I've been a full charge Forensic Accountant, Financial Analyst, Fiduciary, and Tax Preparer for 25 years specializing in small business and hold a B.S.B.A. in finance from the University of Florida. I'm also a Licensed Paid Tax Preparer, a Licensed e-Filer, a Certified Professional Bookkeeper, and a Certified QuickBooks Specialist. What makes working with me unique is the details. The nuances of the tax code really require that the tax preparer fully understand the details of your business. We start with an initial phone interview where Ill learn the basics about your business and about how you run it. From there I take the nuts and bolts of your financials and turn them into a tax return. We finish with a final phone interview they can sometimes take up to 2 hours but usually about 45 minutes that's where the difference comes into play. During that interview I'll ask sometimes up to 100 questions all designed to maximize your tax return to display the numbers that best serve you.

    Frequently asked questions

New clients are often surprised at the time and detail involved with preparing their tax return. It's common to have a 1-2 hour call interview for the first return. Things like hobbies, home based activities, children's future plans, future financing plans, and even immigration issues should always be taken into account when preparing a return. If your accountant/tax preparer isn't tax planning and preparing at the same time you should probably pursue a new professional.

I hold a BSBA in Finance from the University of Florida, and I'm a Certified Professional Bookkeeper, a Certified QuickBooks Specialist, an IRS Licensed Paid Tax Preparer, and a licensed IRS Efiler. I'm also a veteran of the US Army Corps of Engineers as a Combat Engineer which involved a great deal of training in problem solving activities. However, the most important education pertaining to tax and Tax Code issues is experience. I've prepared taxes for over 20 years and in that time, I've encountered virtually every tax issue imaginable.

Yes Personal Returns regardless of filing status have a base rate of $115.00, with additional fees for Schedules ranging from $50.00 for Schedules A, D, & E, and $200.00 for Schedules C, F, & H. There is no additional fee for Schedules B, EIC, J, R, and SE. Business Returns 1065, 1120 & 1120s are $500.00 with additional fees only for data mining and collection. I do not charge for forms, other schedules, or worksheets.

After becoming disenfranchised with the treatment of corporate America, I went to local bartenders and offered to do their taxes for free in exchange for promoting me. I didn't anticipate the correlation between bar patrons and people with tax problems and the idea turned quickly into a grand slam marketing concept.

I have clients from almost every state, culture, race, religion, and ethnic group on the planet and it has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Gaining the absolute trust of a first-generation immigrant is an incredible experience.

There is nothing more rewarding than watching a new clients shoulders drop as I fix a tax issue that has been causing them tremendous stress. The IRS can cause great stress and anxiety and having the ability to step in the middle and defend Joe Taxpayer is why I was put on this planet.

Stay away from the large franchise operations, they often don't work in your best interest and designations like CPA, CMA, and EA only mean they passed a test and are now considered agents of the IRS. Pay attention to individual experience and the questions the professional asks.

A client isn't necessarily the one asking the questions your tax professional is the one that should know the tax code and thus the questions to ask you in an effort to work in your best interests.
