Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I would say it varies by complexity, tax type, urgency, time of year, service requested. For example bookkeeping is charged at an hourly rate, and can agree on a fixed project price. Our bookkeeping costs can be as little as $30 per hour to as much as $70, depending on how complicated the books and records are. My partner and I do all the work, no work is handled by anyone else, everything is completed in-house.
How did you get started in this business?
Started preparing tax returns for friends and family straight out of college. I always wanted to be an owner of a small business. Slowly transitioned from employee, to consultant to self-employed.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Don't be shy to ask as many questions about how the work is performed, their experience level, what tools are used that stand out from the their peers, and more to make sure you are hiring the right firm for you!
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Don't ask specific tax questions, as that is asking for free advice. Do ask about the firms proctice and how it is run, and examples of how they have helped others with similar situations as yourself.
