What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Initial interview. Getting prior three year's returns and reviewing for possible errors for free. Leaving client a list of potential missing information. Followup.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated with honors from the University of Miami. I worked for national CPA firms in downtown Miami for 5 years. Every year I have taken courses to keep my skills current. Since I pssed the EA exam, the minimum I have taken is 30 hours every yearr.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
For corporations, a tax return is usually $ 400 to $450. Indidvidual tax returns start at $ 125. There are many factors that go into pricing. Is there self employment ? Are there property sales? Are there stock and bond transactions? I will usually quote a price before I start the tax return.
How did you get started in this business?
My parents had a small business in Broward County when I was growing up. I was their bookkeeper. I always did well im school in the math classes. Eventually I wanted to teach matematics at the university level. Unfortunately, the space program downsized and I was competing against people for teaching positions with multiple doctorates. I switched my major to accounting.
