I love meeting with clients and educating them on ways to lower their tax liability especially through business ownership to take advantage of certain tax credits that may not be available to individuals who are regular employees with a W2. I also like the challenge of assisting people who are unsure of what the IRS laws allow in terms of income and various credits available to them. I also have been trained by an accountant who has over 40 years experience in taxes; so I quite proficient at getting the maximum refunds allowed and do electronic filing in a timely manner.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I do a free 30 minute consultation and discuss tax planning strategies and ways to lower tax liability
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been doing taxes for about 17 years and took a course at Jackson Hewitt for tax preparation in September of 2003.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Each return is different especially if its a Corporation return.
How did you get started in this business?
I worked part time with a family friend who is a Public Accountant and he taught me electronic filing first and then I moved up and started processing returns as well.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Meeting today with a new client who has no idea about the various corporate entities and realizing by my interview that the individual wasn't current with their taxes either. So instead of just doing the incorporation; I will be doing two years of taxes as well.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Find out how long the person has been practising and if they are listed in the IRS national database of tax preparers
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Be open and prepared to be honest with the tax professional and not withhold information. Know that they are working in your best interest, but also have a legal obligation to be factual based on the responsibility to the IRS.
