What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Generally, our firm meets with prospective clients in our office and have 2 complimentary meetings. The first meeting is one where we learn about each other and we get to know your situation and your concerns. The second meeting is where we lay out the findings of our financial plan and discuss with you our recommendations. At that point, we discuss the scope of services and the cost of those services for you going forward. We then make a mutual decision on the next steps.
How did you get started in this business?
My grandmother was the biggest influence in my life. She was a motivator who always pushed me to do my best. Both of my parents worked hard to support my sisters and me. There were many times when I had to care for my younger sisters while my parents worked. I became independent and self-reliant at an early age.
After high school, I applied for a job at a local credit union. Art was always a passion of mine, but learning about the financial industry sparked my interest, persuading me to change paths and apply to Purdue University and earn a bachelor’s degree in financial counseling & planning, all the while working full time and putting myself through college.
For the last five years, I’ve served on the board of the Boys and Girls Club of Charlotte County. I am a strong advocate of the Club’s positive values. It allows children to reach their full potential and succeed in life. I also enjoy traveling and endurance sports, and have done several 5Ks, triathlons, a Tough Mudder, and a 200-mile relay race. I am constantly challenging myself and looking for new adventures.
What’s most enjoyable about working at Hibiscus is being there for our clients and helping them with their needs. In my opinion, providing excellent customer service requires paying attention and really listening.
