About
John Watts, LCSW, is a licensed psychotherapist with 20 years experience, and 30 years social services/ministry outreach, providing individual and family therapy by utilizing a strengths-based, collaborative, holistic approach, allowing him to gain a clearer sense of his clients' mental, emotional, social and spiritual needs, and finding viable solutions and alternatives to reach a more optimal level of functioning.
Mr. Watts conducts psychotherapy with individuals who are challenged with interpersonal relationships, depression, grief and loss, anxiety, adjustment/transitional, vocational, substance abuse/addictions, dual diagnosis, and related codependency issues.
Mr. Watts has a dual degree in psychology, and pastoral/biblical counseling for those who prefer a more holistic, biblical approach, combined with evidenced-based cognitive therapy and motivational interviewing, which facilitates his clients' ability to cope with negative and self defeating thoughts and behaviors. He believes in providing a collaborative and supportive environment to maximize the therapeutic experience and identify what strengths and resources clients have to create meaningful change in their lives
I chose a counseling career because of a sense of pastoral gifting & calling in helping others help themselves, finding viable & practical solutions to their problems.
