Dr. Laura A. Zipris, PA

I am an advanced Imago clinician specializing in relationships. I have worked successfully with 100's of couples who were struggling with infidelity, infertility, communication diffiulties, parenting issues, etc. I am also certified in Discernment Counseling, which is a form of short-term counseling for couples where one or both people are ambivalent and unsure whether or not they want to stay in relationship. This work is about helping couples gain confidence and clarity about the future direction of their relationship.

I individualize my treatment and incorporate multiple modalities when working with individuals, couples and families depending on the presenting need. My extensive Imago training helps to inform how I conceptualize my clients relationship difficulties and their indvidual problems. Areas of speacialty also include anxiety, depresssion, grief and addictions.

I was originally trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and was certified in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy over 20 years ago. Since then, I have been trained in EMDR and BrainSpotting, along with psychodrama and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction.

I am a licensed School Psychologist and have worked for over 15 years in the NY and FL school system evaluating and counseling children and their families.

I work and live in Florida now, but continue to maintain my New York state licensure in psychology.
