Dr. Jacqueline Santana Sparber Is A Bilingual, Licensed Clinical Psychologist With Specializations In Both Forensic And Pediatric Psychology. She Has Been In The Mental Health Field For Over 25 Years. She Is Certified In Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT); An Evidenced Base, Cutting-Edge, Short-Term Therapy Approach That Has Been Proven To Improve Child Behavior And Enhance Parent-Child Relationships With Long-Term Results. She Has Extensive Training In The Assessment Of Toddlers, Children, Adolescents And Adults With Various Psychological Conditions. Dr. Santana Sparber Has Experience In The Completion Of Assessments For Presurgical Bariatric Evaluations, Immigration Hardship Evaluations, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, Giftedness, Emotional Concerns, Behavioral Issues And Autism Spectrum Disorder. These Assessments Guide Treatment, Interventions And Accommodations If Needed. In Addition To The Above, Dr. Santana Sparber Has Experience In The Areas Of Trauma, Behavioral Disorders, Domestic Violence, Depression, Anxiety, Phobias, And Adjustment To Life Changes Such As Birth Of A Sibling, Divorce, Relocating And Starting College. She Has Extensive Experience In The Area Of Bereavement. She Developed The Bereavement Program For Nicklaus Children Hospital. As Well As Completing Her Doctoral Dissertation On The Topic Of Familial Bereavement. Dr. Santana Sparber Completed Her Pre Doctoral Internship At Miami Dade County Community Action (APA Accredited). And Her Post Doctoral Residency At The University Of Miami Miller School Of Medicine, Mailman Center For Child Development Division Of Child And Adolescent Psychiatry (APA Accredited). What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Your First In-Person Meeting With Your Provider Is What’s Known As An Intake Session. It’s Different From A Traditional Therapy Session Because This Will Be A Time For Your Psychologist To Gather Your Case History, And Together Discuss Why You Have Decided To Pursue Therapy And What Your Goals Are For Your Time Together. It’s Also An Opportunity For You To Get To Know Your Therapist, Ask Any Questions You May Have, And To See How You Feel With Them. At The End Of The Session, You Can Decide Together If It Feels Right To Move Forward In Scheduling Another Session And Beginning The Rest Of The Therapeutic Journey. Please Note That This First Session Is Not Complimentary; It Is A Fully Paid Session. What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
At Keys Gate Wellness Associates our providers are all psychologists. Psychologists all have doctoral degrees -- either a Ph.D, or a doctor of philosophy in psychology, a Psy.D, or doctor of psychology, or an Ed.D, or doctor of education, in psychology. In addition to completing a doctorate, psychologists must complete a one-year, supervised internship providing psychological services in a clinical setting. Our psychologists also all have a specialty, completed through postdoctoral training.

How did you get started in this business?
I fell in love with psychology during my 1st ever psychology class in college. I knew it was my calling and I have never looked back! "Do what you love, and you will never work a day in your life"

Our very successful ADHD Group
Children with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and other behavioral problems may be regularly distracted, impulsive, disruptive and sometimes aggressive and oppositional. They may experience difficulties getting along with others or following directions at school and or home. Our treatments target the source of the problematic behaviors! The group will help children ages 6-12 with ADHD or other behavioral problems build the skills they need to make the best decisions when facing tough issues and common challenges at home, school and with social situations and relationships.
