About

I am currently accepting new clients via teletherapy.

I have been practicing as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida for the past 20 years, largely with a focus in the areas of depression, anxiety, thought disturbance, addiction, emotion regulation, relationship distress, and self-esteem. I am also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and have worked with individuals of various ages across the Autism Spectrum.

I will encourage you to prioritize the areas you wish to address in therapy and tailor my approach on an individual basis. I believe in client autonomy so the areas that are addressed are the areas you want to address.

I draw on several treatment modalities (including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy) to allow you to further develop your strengths and help you meet all of your treatment plan goals at a speed that works best for you. I also have completed training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and use this method in my couples therapy approach.

Overall, I help you to see that managing the stressor is more important than just managing the stress as it will allow you to cope with anything that comes your way.

I enjoy empowering clients so they can see how destructive thought patterns often get in the way of reaching their full potential. Overall, I help you to see that managing the stressor is more important than just managing the stress as it will allow you to cope with anything that comes your way.

I have attended counseling in the past and by far Nicole has been the best. I’ve experienced progress and direction within 3 weeks. I would highly recommend her.

    Frequently asked questions

I connect with clients either online or over the phone (client preference). I offer a free consultation to address any questions a client may have and go over the basic online therapy process.

If a client wants to move forward and schedule a therapy session, I will send an informed consent form to collect basic info.,  signature, and payment.

If an appointment needs to be rescheduled, I am flexible, but request 24 hours notice (unless an emergency).

About 5-10 minutes before our scheduled session, I will text and email my zoom link to make connecting simple.

Progress is evaluated after every session.

I have an MA in Clinical Psychology from the University of Central Florida.

I received by BS in Psychology from the University of Florida.

I have been a Certified Addictions Professional and have certifications/training in trauma, motivational interviewing, and crisis intervention.

Prior to online therapy, I ran 5 Therapy Groups weekly that specialized in Anger Management, Communication/Assertiveness, Stress Management and Life Skills.

    $125 flat fee

I will do reimbursement receipts for those that have out-of-network benefits.

I started doing teletherapy during COVID-19 with my face-to-face clients and really enjoyed this venue; I saw the value in it for clients that may have a difficult time getting to the office.

I have worked with elementary school children all the way up to the geriatric population, but my average age range is 25-55. I have held a license for addictions counseling and have worked with the chronically ill population as well.

I have a client that was in and out of the inpatient psychiatric facilities for years (depression and thought disturbance) and has been able to manage his mental illness in the outpatient setting for over a year now!

When clients successfully reach their therapy goals, I realize the how life-changing therapy is for so many!

It is important to ask about experience and length of time in the field. Being offered an opportunity to connect with a therapist prior to scheduling is important in order to address any questions as well as get a feeling for basic rapport.

Clients should take some time to think about their therapy goals and where they would like to be in about 6 months (the changes they would like to make). A therapist can help make your longer-term goals more specific and measurable (on a daily/weekly/short-term basis) so progress can be noted during the course of therapy (however large or small the progress is-progress is progress).
