Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I do an initial phone call to get details of what the client is really looking for.
I decided long ago to never treat a diagnosis or symptom but to treat my client, their needs and wants are what is important.
I don't label or judge anyone for their issues, emotions, thoughts or feelings.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from George Mason College with a BS in psychology/sociology (double major).
I continue my ongoing education in my specialties of Grief, Trauma, Depression, Stress, Anxiety, Fear, PTSD, Postpartum Depression.
I am a member in good standing with the American Association of Counseling.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My hourly fees for Thervo clients are $65 for 60 minutes and $85 for 90 minutes. I offer discounts for Veterans and 1st Responders AND have offered Thervo referrals the same discounts.
My regular fees are $135 per 60 minutes and $185 per 90 minutes.
How did you get started in this business?
I initially wanted to use my psychology/sociology degree for work in the Personnel field.
But ended up in business with my husband for many years.
2014 I decided to open a practice to do Counseling. I love the interaction with my clients. But I did realize that Counseling isn't for everyone and doesn't work for everything so I decided to also become a trained Coach to fill in the open needs. I have loved the ability to offer both and be able to help more people with more issues.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Due to the COVID19 pandemic, I started using a Video system to connect with all of my clients. This means that I have no limitation on the State you are in. I am able to cover all 52 states and also have 2 clients from other countries.
I am thankful that I have a full range of Counseling clients plus my Coaching clients.
My coaching clients include Couples Coaching, Life Coaching and Career coaching.
The end result must be when my clients are ready to get up in the morning and be happy to see life with a smile and sunshine.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am fond of all of the outcomes with my clients. If we have not resolved their issues we aren't done.
There are many ways to offer help if one way doesn't work move on to what does. I don't drag out the work I do. I aim to help my clients as quickly as possible and help them back into their world as a happier person.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I suggest that you talk to us. Find out if there is a connection before you make the decision to schedule your initial session. Education is important but successful Counseling or Coaching works best if there is a personal bond.
You must be able to discuss anything with your Counselor/Coach and if there is no trust you can't move forward and be 100% successful.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Your questions aren't as important as the professional's answers. Listen for any labels they put on your issues or on you, check to make sure they don't criticize you or if you have had counseling or coaching in the past your previous professional.
Make sure you will be able to bond with them. Be sure they encourage you to say anything necessary for your needs to be met without judging you or the situation.
