Laurie Giannola is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 18 years of experience helping both adolescents and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, Borderline Personality Disorder, OCD, phobias, grief and loss, self-damaging behavior, and chronic pain. Laurie utilizes various therapeutic modalities including psychodynamic and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, specializing in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness-Based Psychotherapy.
Laurie began her career as a psychotherapist at a national outdoor wilderness program for adjudicated youth. She helped develop and build programs in AZ, FL, PA, and MD and was ultimately promoted to clinical director. She spent the next several years working with diverse populations in various outpatient settings, most recently with Kaiser Permanente, one of the largest healthcare systems in the country.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
In my practice, I provide support and encourage clients to work toward developing resiliency and improve all aspects of their lives. I take an individualized approach to each client to help promote positive change and growth which ultimately leads to more balance, peace and fulfillment. When working with me, you will find that I view every personal challenge with warmth, openness, compassion so that you feel safe, understood and validated and healing can begin.

I have retreated with, attended teachings from and trained with some of the leading teachers in MBCT, MBSR, and Insight meditation.
