I am a caring, understanding psychotherapist who has advanced training and extensive experience (30+ years) working with individuals, couples, children, and families. My treatment focus includes problems of childhood, parenting issues, trauma, marital conflicts, infidelity, alcohol/substance abuse, depression and anxiety. I have post doctorate advanced training in family systems therapy and individual psychotherapy and have taught and supervised family therapy to therapists-in-training for over 20 years. I have advanced training in group psychotherapy, emotionally focused therapy, and solution focused therapy. I have developed training programs for mental health centers throughout New York, on family and couples counseling.
My approach is empathic, interactive, and psychodynamic, geared towards understanding the person/couple/family in the context of their unique situation. I assist each client in making positive changes in their lives and in better understanding how past patterns of relating affect present day relationships and sense of self.
I appreciate the uniqueness of each client and adapt my approach to meet the needs of my clients. I strive to create a safe environment where clients can feel open to express and explore feelings and thoughts. My goal is to help move you from where you are stuck.
