About
Personalized one on one attention to detail. Every single return gets set up, prepared, completed and filed by me personally. I do not delegate the important tasks to others. There is never a fee for telephone consultations, even if someone is using another firm. Free review of last 3 years of tax returns filed. QuickBooks set up with discounts on their fees. Also, there is no clock when I am discussing a client's tax situation.
I specialize in small businesses, with a huge emphasis on independent contractors, real estate agents, insurance agents and other independent contractors trying to make their way and build their businesses. I created a network between all of my business clients so that they can interact with each other the services that they need. I'm an expert in corporate set up strategies, actually setting up corporations and LLCs in every state, and I do that at half the price that my competitors like LegalZoom charge.
For over 39 years I thoroughly enjoy the interaction with people on a daily basis. I love it when someone connects with me on social media, for example, from Texas, and we build a huge friendship which leads to a tremendous amount of business between us. Probably some of that I'll never meet. I love it. And I love it when I put a smile on someone's face when they realize that whoever they used to use made so many mistakes, and that I can get them back much more money, do it without stress, In a timely manner. They will never be more than 15 minute wait time from calling me to me calling back. They are firms that I've heard that don't call people back for days. Visit me on Facebook.com/anthony fontana

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
An initial conversation could be anywhere from one hours to two hours. I like to review the last three years of returns that have been filed, and address any concerns that I may have with how they were prepared, if anything is wrong. And then request the civic documents related to their current situation, and proceed to create a file as they send me paperwork. Turnaround time for an individual return could be anywhere from 6 to 24 hours this is returns could take anywhere from 24 to 48 hours, again depending on the complexity and the timing of the documentation flow to me.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelors in Business Management, Accountant and Taxation, backed by 39 years in business with 10,000's of tax returns filed over the decades. In addition I've been a small business owner, real estate investor, and network marketer since my early 20s, and have a huge amount of experience in understanding how small businesses work, and what their needs are.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
For standard tax returns I charge $200. More complex returns, requiring business calculations, multiple stock transactions, etc. are slightly higher. However I will always be a previous accountant by no less than 10%, and as much is 25%. That's a guarantee. Business returns start at $250 and up. QuickBooks monthly maintenance ranges from $50-$250, again depending on the amount of volume and complexity of the business. Corporate and LLC set up, which includes the state set up, obtaining the EIN number, requesting S Corp status with IRS amd your state, if required, and simple articles of incorporation or organization, it's $200, plus whatever the state fee is.
How did you get started in this business?
I got started in the business in 1980 while I was studying accounting and taxation in business school at night while I was working for a large international Japanese bank. I stayed at the bank 12 years. But I built a huge practice just by starting out with my friends. My entire practice is built on referrals.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with individuals and couples of course, Network Marketinger, MLMers, small businesses, independent contractors such as insurance agents, realtors, salaried and small business owner high-level individuals that make over $1 million a year. I also have an extensive small corporation and LLC business practice, which includes a lot of additional services that are much more affordable than what most other firms charge for such services. For My most memorable client, I was the tax accountant for the Bishop of the Greek Orthodox Church in Brooklyn for years before he passed.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Look for someone that's warm, friendly, accountable, and available. The biggest complaint I get from people that come to me is that they can't reach their previous accountant, sometimes for days or even weeks. Or the advice that they get from such an accountant doesn't match with reality.
