About

Helping clients make sense of the heartaches and headaches of life is my main purpose as a therapist. To do that there is a need to recognize the importance of pain in our lives as informing us of the need to change. Sometimes change is simple and behavioristic. Other times it is cognitive and requires a greater willingness to shift one's thinking in an effort to reinvent oneself.

I have been working with individuals, couples, teens and families for the past 18 years in multiple settings- agencies, schools, hospitals and private practice.

I am unique from other therapists in that I avoid using the psycho-babble that too many of us use. I willingly share my own stories, where they relate to yours to keep things real. I am creative in my thought process, active in my listening and work tirelessly to help my clients get unstuck. I also do walk and talk therapy for those that want to go outside (in any weather) and I use humor to soften difficult talking points.

I enjoy helping people see that counseling doesn't need to feel stressful or full of blame. It is simply an opportunity to take stock of what's working in your life and where you might be stuck. I like bringing out the best in my clients and helping them have an experience that empowers them and keeps them focused on what they are already good at.

    Frequently asked questions

Generally I prefer to begin with a 15 minute phone consultation in which you are free to share whatever you are comfortable sharing and ask whatever questions you would like.

I typically tell you a bit about myself, my experience and my areas of expertise and we have a short dialogue to determine if it makes sense to schedule an appointment.

I feel it feels like we might be a good fit, you can schedule an initial intake appointment online and we can go from there. I do not pressure clients into scheduling with me as I want to respect your pace moving forward.

If you need to cancel an appointment you can go into your email and delete it- just kindly provide a 24 cancellation courtesy to avoid a fee.
