About

My goal is to serve each individual's specific needs. My study of Ayurveda assists my abiltiy to determine what works best for one, doesnt always apply to another.

Ayurveda teaches us that we are unique, within our physical, mental and emotional makeup and one size does not fit all.

I most enjoy teaching people how to be their best and most authentic selves. I love watching people honor themselves by learning and practicing better self care. I get excited when I see them return with positive stories about how they have been able to interact, in more graceful ways,

within situations they often find difficult. Self care allows us the energy to discern, within our work and family relationships, how to and how not to react, clarify our part in each moment and to know how to practice kindness.

Frequently asked questions

When someone new arrives, I have them fill out a basic health history form. It takes about 10 minutes. This way I have a better understanding of their physical experiences, and to assertain their emotional needs. I  spend a few minutes with them, pretreatment. It's helpful to know a little bit about someone before I treat them. I believe the healing process begins when we first meet.  I want my patients to feel welcome and to know they will be cared for when they walk in the door. I also want them to get to know me before I work with them.  I believe there is a sacredness to this work. Whether it be Licensed Massage Therapy, Craniosacral Therapy or Ayurveda. I honor the trust someone has opened up to, when they come to Five Elements Healing Center and allow me to assist the healing they have sought.

I worked in an Operating Room as a Surgical Assistant for 20 years before I became a LMT. I have an Asssociate Degree in Science. I am a certified Surgical Technologist. Through my surgical experience I learned about the disease process and the mystery within the healing process.

I understand the structure and function of the body, how the different systems interact with one another and am most interested in the holistic approach, and how it affects the muscular system.

I also learned the value of teamwork and being present to whatever situation rises within unique experiences.

I also studied Craniosacral therapy. I am certified in Level one and Level 2 and about to take Somatoemotional level 3 in NYC this year.

I studied Ayurvedic Medicine at Kripalu School of Ayurveda in Stockbridge, MA. I graduated a 750 hour program with a certification in 2006. I have also studied Kundalini Yoga at Yoga at the Ashram in Millis, MA.

I began my education after high school when I studied Surgical Technology at Manchester Community College. It was a 2 year program. I have contined to study and refine my work since then.

After spending 20 years working in Hospital settings, I decided to study Ayurveda. Ayurveda, which means the Science of Life, attends to all facets of life. Emotional, physical and spiritual. I was always drawn to seek an understanding of ones own responsibility to their own health and through education and support intend to teach and explore that within each person. One of my teachers, Dr Vasand Lad, told me when I graduated that I needed to bring this work to my neighborhood. With deep respect and trust I opened  my own business, with the intention to serve more on a one and one basis with my patients and to teach wellness and assist healing. Although I had always worked for others this experience as a business owner has been an education within itself.

I have worked with people of all ages, from 3 years old to 83 years old.

I have worked with men and woman. I have worked with chronic health issues and acute situations as well.

I have worked with patients with arthritis, scoliosis, anxiety disorder, depressive disorder and ptsd.

I have been working with a patient on a weekly basis for 6 weeks. He has had several muscular disorders.

With a combination of CST and Massage Therapy he is now able to walk without pain and has regained strength in his hips and legs. He also feels better because the pain has softened significantly and his deep sleep has returned. If someone can go into the deep sleep pattern their tendency to heal is more available and they genuinely feel happier in their life which in turn assists them in making better choices for themselves within their diet, activity and basic lifestyle.

I would first suggest they meet in person.

Healing is such a sacred process, I believe it is most important to feel comfortable with the person you are seeking to assist this internal process.

I would look at their credentials and assess whether or not they have extensively studied the situation you find yourself in and if they continue to study. That is also important to know whether or not they are up to date with new information and have peer support within the system they are practicing.

I would want them to be clear about how it is they serve, and what is their intention.

What is it that you need? What have you already done? What has worked? What hasnt worked?

And they why attached to all of these questions?

How much time are you willing to commit to your well being and healing process?
