Starting with a psychiatric evaluation of the individual patient, we utilize cutting edge treatment approaches and incorporate advances in medicine. Such practices include: evidenced-based therapy, behavioral interventions, tailored addiction services, medication, genetic testing, brain stimulation, Spravato for treament-resistant depression, cognitive testing and more.
We feel that nothing is more important than mental health. And nothing is more complex. At Island Psychiatry, we believe that treating complex mental health issues requires us, as doctors and therapists, to have a relentlessly energetic commitment and often a team approach without constraints. Our private, confidential, stand-alone, relaxing setting allows patients to immediately experience some relief.
Our team is working to acknowledge and address the barriers to obtaining quality, caring, equitable, and comprehensive mental health care. Four common barriers that we are tackling head on are Insurance, Cost, Stigma and Fear.
We also provide preventive care and treatment options to companies, schools, and organizations, avoiding the barrier of insurance, decreasing cost and leading to a retained and happier workforce.
We believe in bringing our skills, ideas and practices together in order to create an integrated network of professionals who can collaborate and advance the field of mental health. This is accomplished as a Unified group of Specialties here at Island Psychiatry but also in collaboration with community professionals. We go beyond that through the provision of workshops, trainings, and presentations at all levels to share ideas, resources and practices. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We conduct a careful and complete initial evaluation followed by treatment planning which may include therapy (individual, group, family, couples), medication, TMS, cognitive testing, genetic testing, addiction services (Suboxone, Vivitrol paired with therapy), acupuncture, or a combination of approaches. Our teams work together to treat the whole person. We are a team of therapists, psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, technicians and administrative support.

At Island Psychiatry, we believe in the idea that health-care providers must pursue the goal of providing the highest quality treatment in the most cost-effective manner.
While we do not participate in-network with insurance, we will assist you in obtaining the maximum out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance company. We set our fees at a level which allows us to attract and retain top quality clinicians and provide excellent staffing and other support services.
In an effort to accommodate people with financial hardship we have an application to request a reduction in our fees. Please inquire for more details.
