About
In 2012 I earned my Masters of Contemplative Psycotherapy at Naropa University. For 2 years I worked within the Boulder County jail focusing on programs designed to help people create meaningful and lasting change. During that time I completed over 200 hours of training in a somatic modality of therapy designed to address the effects of trauma through helping the body naturally resolve and heal these effects.
A big part of my approach to psychotherapy is referencing the present moment as a touchstone of personal health. My personal practice and work as an instructor of mindfulness has helped me deeply understand the importance of developing the ability to focus and quiet the mind through practice.
For over 5 years I've been involved with groups devoted to helping men develop their purpose through connection and self-reflection. Participation in these powerful and relationally-oriented men's groups has been a massive catalyst for change in my own life, and an inspiration to help other men.
Helping people through my work as a therapist is what I most want to be doing with my life. For me, helping people work through their difficult times isn't a job "have to do," it's how I choose to spend my time and my life.
I find fulfillment in helping people discover their purpose and live each day according to their highest values. My belief in therapy is that it is co-created growth between two people, and participating in the process of someone's growth has always been deeply rewarding.
