Pastoral Connections Counseling
About
The services I provide are typically on an 'intensive' basis to begin with. I do not believe in the 45-50 minute session. What we know is that this is only enough time to get acquainted and there is not enough time to process or engage in skills learning or psychoeducation. All my individual sessions are 75 minutes. Couples and Family Counseling run between 1.5-2.5 hours. This allows me to get to know you and see your personal dynamics in action allowing me better insight to where there is a relational, emotional, or developmental issue.
I enjoy and love working with people. Pastoral Counseling is focused on an exceptional understanding of the individual and developing a trusting, safe relationship that is influencial and beneficial. Therapy and counseling require a deep time committment and personal committment to make the desired change the client is seeking.

How did you get started in this business?
I have been in private practice in the field of Pastoral Care and Counseling since 2003. Pastoral Counseling is focused on an exceptional understanding of the individual and their internal experiences. My goal is to develop a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship that is focused on small positive steps and victories. An individual's personal faith and beliefs (or unbelief) is an important piece of the relationship if that is the desire of the client. I believe in a client-focused relationship that explores the desired change and goals of the client.
What types of customers have you worked with?
My specialties are with Chronic Illness, Fibromyalgia, Dysautonomia, Adoption, Developmental Growth, Anxiety, Depression, Self-Esteem, and Couples Counseling.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My favorite relationships are those that are developed spontaneously in everyday life with people who are strangers. My favorites have been sitting on a park bench while my children played, sitting on a plane and sharing my life and that of the person sitting next to me. Recently I met a woman who is a hospice nurse consultant and we shared the calling of people who work with end of life issues. It is these spontaneous conversations that restore faith in the human spirit and hospitality and care of others. Shalom.
