Dr. Ballard is a licensed professional counselor who graduated from the University of Denver’s APA accredited Counseling Psychology program with his Doctoral degree. He received his Bachelors degree from Georgetown University and his Masters from Denver Seminary.

Dr. Ballard has worked for over ten years with adults, young adults, adolescents, and families in private practice, university counseling centers, outpatient clinics, and community mental health centers. His areas of specialty include anger management, anxiety and depression, substance use disorders, and relationship problems.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Ballard is an Adjunct Professor of Counseling Psychology at both the University of Denver and Denver Seminary. He has presented at National conferences and has provided therapeutic training for educational staff in area public schools, for the Department of Human Services, and for a number of community mental health agencies. Topics presented include: “Violent and Aggressive Adolescents,” “The Grief and Loss Process,” Nonviolent Communication,” and “Working with Angry and Oppositional Students.” Michael is a published author of various workbooks, training manuals and articles, including his recent book, Take Control of Your Anger.
