An essential component of healing comes from self-empowerment, and I am interested in being a partner in creating your health. I believe that it is important that you understand what acupuncture is and does, and will explain the treatment process to you as we work together. I will advise you of self-care techniques to accelerate your healing, and will support you with any resources that I think will create balance.
I am passionate about helping people feel their best so they can live the life they dream of.
Jennifer is a thoughtful, knowledgeable practitioner who takes time with her clients and creates personalized treatment plans. She listens actively and is very responsive. She also takes time to clearly communicate her process and approach, as well as how to work through your own healthcare provider to file for reimbursement if possible. She's helped me with pain in my shoulder and from a healing torn hamstring, as well as stress management. I highly recommend her.
If you are in the Denver area and find yourself in a body: an essential person for you to know is Jennifer Stevenson—intuitive, insightful, skilled acupuncturist. I have the good fortune of getting weekly treatments from Jenny who tunes up and balances whatever ails me that week. The broad range of things acupuncture addresses will surprise you. If it hurts or concerns you, acupuncture can help. Jenny has the gentlest manner, works in collaboration with your own intuition about your body and combines light massage with her treatments. I leave an hour session feeling like I’ve spent the day at a spa. I recommend you book your session while she still has room.
She is so kind and patient. Jennifer really cares about her patients. The best thing, however, is that she has helped me with my stomach pain issues. Usually a couple visits to her office, and my pain is gone. Jennifer also really listens if you need to talk. She is one of the most compassionate practitioners that I have ever met. I would truly recommend her to anyone, you will be very happy with your visit.
Jenny is one of the best healers and providers of alternative medicine I know. She is so kind, incredibly knowledgeable, and able to treat each patient so specifically and individually. I walk out of her office feeling transformed.
Before beginning treatment, we will have a conversation about your condition and find out what you would like to focus on during the treatment. I will ask about your health history and find out about things like sleep patterns, energy levels, the history of your chief complaint and things that make your symptoms worse or better.
Next I will explain the acupuncture process to you and give you my assessment of the imbalances that are creating your symptoms and how we will treat them.
Once it’s time to do acupuncture, very fine, single-use, sterile needles will be inserted into points on your body. Generally anywhere from 5 to 20 acupuncture points are used at one time and treatments last between 30-50 minutes.

I received my first acupuncture treatments in my early twenties when I was struggling with some health challenges and was immediately hooked.
I’ve always wanted to be in a “helping” profession, but didn’t know exactly what that would look like. After my experience with acupuncture, it became clear to me that I wanted to share this amazing medicine with others.
Because acupuncture activates the body's own healing ability it can be used to address almost any health concern. I have worked with a wide variety of conditions, and most of my patients have come in with one of the following problems:
Pain - chronic and acute from injuries, overuse, accidents, or degeneration
Sinus and allergy problems
Fatigue, stress, anxiety, depression
Menstrual and hormonal imbalances
I was so happy about how quickly one of my patients responded to acupuncture. She has been struggling with up to three migraines a week since she was 5 years old. After about 4 weeks of treatments she was down to one migraine in three weeks.
Find someone you feel comfortable with and that you like, and make sure they are NCCAOM certified and licensed through DORA.
Bear in mind that most conditions will take at least 5-7 treatments to show improvement and as many as 8-10 treatments for more chronic conditions.
How many treatments they expect you might need.
Experience with treating your condition.
Location - is it easy for you to get to? Acupuncture is very relaxing and you might not want to spend a long time driving after a treatment.
