Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It is important for you to feel welcomed and safe when you begin therapy. I seek to make that be the case for each client I serve. I offer a 15 minute free phone consultation to help clients determine if I am a good fit for what they need.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters Degree in Social Worker and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am certified as a Trauma Therapist and am certified in Family Trauma Therapy.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I am happy to take cash or check. I also have ability to take credit cards. Please give me a call to discuss my rates.
How did you get started in this business?
I have always wanted to help other people feel the peace and positive effects from changing old patterns that don't serve much good anymore. I have done my own therapy, and know what courage it takes to reach out for help. I believe in my heart that therapy can make a drastic impact on lives for the better. I have been in the field for over 21 years and still am passionate about the work.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I see adults who are experiencing pain or difficulty in their lives because of past trauma, divorce, conflict with others, depression or anxiety. I also specialize in children and adolescents who are having behavioral challenges or difficulty with regulating their emotions in a positive way. I love to see couples and families as well.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
It is important for you to interview the therapist and make sure it sounds like they have expertise in your needs. Therapists need to have a strong clinical background in what you are needing support with, and also it is vital to have a solid and safe connection with the therapist you are seeing.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
I think it is important to try and determine the goals you have for therapy and what it might look like for you to feel successful with the goals. Sometimes people worry they will be in therapy forever, and if you are able to determine what you are needing specifically, it will help guide your process of healing.
