What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We have an onbording program online for the client to file and we request previous year tax return to better understant the client situation.
We also require the client to print a copy of your IRS Transcript to make sure we have every income and deductions reported (Often people forget about transactions and get a letter from the IRS)

How did you get started in this business?
I started with Bookkeeping services and tax preparation for wealthy individuals and small businesses. I started to prepare taxes in 2004

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was very happy with a client with real estate investment with several rental properties still filing his taxes as a sole proprietor with several chedule C. As I was highly recommended when I started to work with him, he was ready to trust me and listen to my recommendation . We created several sub chapter S comporation for each buildings , recover some depreciation not taken, created a solo 401K and used several legal deduction not used in the past and we were able to save him over $ 100,000 on his taxes.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
If you want to take adventage of most of the tax laws specially with the Covid 19 last tax laws changes, don't look for tax mills, ask about all the issues you are worring about, make sure the accountant takes the time to reseach and explain your options and let you choose what you feel is best for you. This is a team project . Don't let somebody make decision for you. Price is not that important when you save money on the results.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Think about any information which are not obvious like last minute change in your situation, anything you plan to change next year and anything you forgot to include last year. Talk about any aspect of your life which is not reflected in paper but can affect your return (purchase of sell of a house, heath situation, any thing you think could be relevant ....
