Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I first like to inform the client a little bit about what to expect in therapy and how I work. I enjoy getting to know my client appropriately so that I can tailor the therapeutic process to meet the client's needs. I believe it is important for clients to feel comfortable in the space as it promotes the connection needed for one to open up about what is really the core issues that are the underlying causes related to the client's experience in his or her daily life.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned my Master of Science in Counseling, Marriage, Family, and child therapy in 2012 at University of Phoenix. After graduating and beginning work with survivors of trauma, I decided to go back to school to increase my understanding of working with those who suffer from traumatic experiences. I earned an advances post graduate degree in Conflict and Non-Conflict Trauma. In addition I have earned Certificates in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Art and Play Therapy. In addition, I studied Trauma from a Psychoanalytic Perspective from the Tavistock Institute in London, England.
