Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When a prospective client is interested in taking the next steps, we take the time to meet initially for an introductory consultation at no charge. Once we have a firm understanding of the situation and the clients have agreed to our Investment and Planning Proposal, then we begin the onboarding process. We would help establish new accounts with us that would then be funded by the existing accounts held elsewhere and they are delivered within a week or so. Upon arrival of the accounts, then we can begin the ongoing process of monitoring and managing for risk, reward and achievement of our clients goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to college to study to become a Financial Advisor, then I went right to work in the field. I worked for the largest 401k provider in the industry for over 8 years before starting my independent practice in 2015 where I've worked ever since.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My standard pricing includes comprehensive financial planning as well as active portfolio monitoring and oversight. Depending on the size of the portfolio that we'd be managing our pricing can range anywhere between 0.60% annually up to 1% annually, so please contact us for a specific quote.

How did you get started in this business?
I began my career helping to run an office for two independent financial advisors in San Diego who helped me learn the business from the ground up including trading operations, compliance and exceptional customer service.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I've focused my clients mainly on individuals, unless the individuals happen to own a business in which case I do serve the needs of those clients businesses.
Most of my clients are affluent and within close proximity to retirement, if not already retired.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We recently sponsored the Walk for Healing of SLO County Hospice which we are very proud of.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
It is important to ensure that your financial advisor is qualified, competent, compassionate and available enough to stay focused on your case both now and long into the future. It doesn't hurt if they are friendly and easy to get along with as well.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
It's always revealing to ask your potential financial advisor 'what questions should I be asking you?'
If their answer seems to be in line with questions you would have liked to ask, then you could be on the right track.
If they seem to dodge some of the key questions, like how do you charge for your services? that could mean they'd rather not answer the question.
'how many clients do you manage money for'?
'who are all of the members of your team I'd be working with, and what are their qualifications?'
'how long do you plan to work before retiring?'
'what is your business' succession plan if you pass away?'
