We are a small, family operated business that has been serving San Diego and particularly, the South Bay, for over five years. We are locals from Chula Vista so we know the community. We treat our clients like family. Here, they can come laugh and chat; and, at the same time they can be rest assured that their taxes will be prepared as accurate and honest as possible with no surprises. We are very transperent and like to educate our clients so that they feel more confident with the result of their preparation. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We try to get to know them personally so we can make them feel comfortable or at ease. We like to treat our client as friends or family. We then ask questions and listen to them to determine how we can best assit their needs. We then walk them trough the entire process and answer any questions that they have so tha they feel confident that we have provided the best result.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We have to each renew our CTEC (California Tax Education Council) license each year to stay active and must complete continuing education hours to stay updated on current tax law.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We have a standard pricing system per form (Short form, long form ect) and any other tax forms required (i.e. Schedule C, Schedule E, ect).
How did you get started in this business?
My mom started the business because she knew tax preparation was a business that would always be needed since many people need help with their taxes. I got licensed at age 18 so once I got training through H&R Block then I joined her and we have been doing well ever since.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have worked with all kinds of people from a person with just one job to business owners and corporations. We love helping people and will assist anyone we are able to.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
First, make sure that they are transparent about their pricing. If they want to charge you more based on a higher refund then that usually is a red flag. Secondly, make sure they explain what is on your tax return so that you understand what is going on and don't end up with any surprises later. Also, ask them if they have a Facebook page or look them up online to see if they are listed on Yelp and look at reviews.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
You should be able to ask a tax pro any questions without hestation. If they are unsure they usually will tell you and probably ask if it is okay for them to do some research. At least, that is what we do.
