My name is Edward Prothero and I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist specializing in individual, couples and family therapy. I maintain a private practice in Roseville, CA as well as Yuba City, CA.
As an interactive, Cognitive Behavioral / Object relations / Family Systems therapist my diverse therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I strive to integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client and family. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
A great deal of satifaction comes from seeing individuals find their voice as well as gaining insight to the dynamics affecting their lives. Watching individuals and families find their way to increased self esteem in very rewarding.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I normally conduct an evaluation that will last from 2 to 4 sessions. During this time, we can both decide if I am the best person to provide the services you need in order to meet your treatment goals. If we agree to begin psychotherapy, I will usually schedule one [50-minute] session (one appointment hour of [50] minutes duration) per week, at a time we agree on, although some sessions may be longer or more frequent.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a licensed Marriage & Family Counselor. I have a Masters of Science degree in Psychological Counseling as well as a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. I have a Honorable Discharge from my time in the U.S. Marines.
