About

I am a Registered Tax Return Preparer (RTRP) with the IRS and Certified with the State of California (CTEC). With 16 years of experience, I take the time to make sure my customers understand what's going on and what their situation is with the IRS and the state(s) they are filing in. I can do taxes in any state, and have worked with clients in other states completely via email. I love helping people and removing the "fog" about their financial picture. I got started because my very first tax return was audited. I'm a born entrepreneur, and the IRS questioned my first business.

Since then, I've started and run a few businesses, and I've come to appreciate that most business owners need to do what they do best, and leave the behind-the-scenes details to experts in their respective areas, ie: bookkeeping and income tax preparation.

We specialize in small- and home-based businesses but can also do taxes for individuals/families, Trusts, Estates, LLCs and S-Corps, as well as every State in the U.S.

I love numbers. They speak to me. I love helping people understand what can often feel as scary as it is complex.

I love when a clien'ts face lights up because they feel good about what we're doing.

Most people don't mind paying their fare share. We know how to take you "right to the edge without going over."

We take the guesswork and worry out of getting the annual chore done.

I'm very comfortable dealing with the IRS so my clients don't have to!

I'm required to take the same number of hours as CPAs and others, but I usually take 3-4 times that many classes bcause I need to stay on top of all the tax codes, and they get more complex every year.

We are full service, helping individuals AND businesses with ALL their tax reporting needs.

    Frequently asked questions

First we consult over the phone, then either the customer sends their information and documents by email, fax or dropping off, or we meet in person to go over everything. Lastly, we either prepare the return/s on the spot or meet again for signing or we finalize via email. We're flexible to our clients' schedules and level of technology and always emphasize customer satisfaction. We accept payment when the project is completed and communicate frequently until completion, including emailing digital copies and confirmation that e-filing was accepted.

Tax preparers are required to complete 20 hours of continuing education every year by the State of California, and renew their registration with the IRS every other year. I typically complete 40 hours or more every year and work with an Enrolled Agent with over 20 years of experience who lends phenomenal support to my business and my clients.

We charge by the form produced, and add in for the time it takes overall, including consulting, printing, copying, e-filing and follow-up consultation and updates. The national average is $125 per hour but we usually charge $85 per hour, against huge software expenses and the other usual overhead. We believe in adding value by taking the time to explain and educate together with competitive pricing. This is why you'll pay less but receive more in service.

I was audited at the tender age of 19. I come from a long line of entrepreneurs, and I couldn't find anyone who understood tax returns for small business, so I had to learn tax preparation for myself. Friends and clients asked me to help them, so I started preparing returns professionally in 2002.

We can help everyone from the first-time W2 worker to small business owners with up to 20 employees or more.  But we don't just prepare quick tax returns for the most current year due.  Because we're all human and sometimes don't file every year, many clients need for us to contact the IRS or state for records so that they can "reconstruct" their financial picture before we can even prepare their tax returns. We have gone back as far as ten years for more than one client. Most CPAs just tell you "come back when you have the info" but we help you get it together.

A man developed Alzheimer's and his friends were concerned when he started receiving letters from the IRS for not filing.  They asked me for help, and I worked with them on sorting through all his many piles of papers to piece together 10 years of his finances.  We prepared 11 tax returns, and got him completely caught-up.  The family appreciated the "extra mile" in coordinating the huge project and helping them to understand what was needed to complete the returns.

It's always better to hire someone with the right software and training to get it done right the first time, and to take advantage of all the tax breaks - especially the ones you might not know about.

Be organized. Follow a system. Use worksheets so that there is nothing left out. And, be patient. Your tax preparer/bookkeeper needs time to go over everything to make sure it is accurate before having you sign it.

Numbers scare a lot of people, so it just makes sense to let someone who is good with numbers to help with daily operations and monthly and annual reporting.

A bookkeeping system that is accurate and arranged to be easy to use is crucial for a successful business. That is why our tax clients also have us help them with their bookkeeping.

And, please respect your preparer's time. Schedule a phone call or appointment and be as prepared as possible with all the info needed so we can complete your project as quickly and accurately as possible the first time.
