About

I primarily focus on helping women who have experienced domestic violence, sexual abuse and sexual trauma. I am training in EMDR and I have found it to be powerful. I do work well with clients from different backgrounds, including those who identify as Asian and Pacific Islander cultures, but I embrace diversity.

I consider working with women a specialized clientele. I understand the challenges of single or working mothers, those who have multiple responsibilities and obligation to family, and experiencing infertility.

I am dual licensed in Hawaii and California. I can see clients in either location, through telehealth. I am also on Psychology Today. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists/kiri-siu-kaneohe-hi/736318

I enjoy helping individuals become happier and more satisfied with their life. I find it rewarding to help clients find more satisfaction and less distress in their life.

    Frequently asked questions

I provide a free 10-15 min phone consultation to see if we might be a good fit.

I have worked extensively with victims of trauma- specializing in domestic violence and sexual abuse/sexual assault. I have a masters degree in counseling psychology. I have experience working on both the SF East Bay and Hawaii, and have licenses in both states. I am training in EMDR.

I do not take insurance at this time, but can offer a flexible, generous sliding scale.

I have been drawn to working with people who are in need of help. To provide support and empathy at times we are vulnerable or looking for help, is rewarding.

I have worked primarily with women ages 18-60. However, I have worked with children and teens as well.

Recently I helped a highly traumatized client began to experience some relief using techniques from EMDR . EMDR or Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing can be a powerful tool.

Talk to them by phone or video. Reading a profile only gives you a snapshot of their qualifications.

I would ask if they have worked with this issue before, and for them to expand. Most therapists have some experience working in many areas, it doesn't mean that it would be a good fit. I would ask if the therapist sees this as a long term issue or shorter term.
