Kiri Siu, LMFT
About
I primarily focus on helping women who have experienced domestic violence, sexual abuse and sexual trauma. I am training in EMDR and I have found it to be powerful. I do work well with clients from different backgrounds, including those who identify as Asian and Pacific Islander cultures, but I embrace diversity.
I consider working with women a specialized clientele. I understand the challenges of single or working mothers, those who have multiple responsibilities and obligation to family, and experiencing infertility.
I am dual licensed in Hawaii and California. I can see clients in either location, through telehealth. I am also on Psychology Today. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists/kiri-siu-kaneohe-hi/736318
I enjoy helping individuals become happier and more satisfied with their life. I find it rewarding to help clients find more satisfaction and less distress in their life.

I have worked primarily with women ages 18-60. However, I have worked with children and teens as well.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently I helped a highly traumatized client began to experience some relief using techniques from EMDR . EMDR or Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing can be a powerful tool.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Talk to them by phone or video. Reading a profile only gives you a snapshot of their qualifications.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
I would ask if they have worked with this issue before, and for them to expand. Most therapists have some experience working in many areas, it doesn't mean that it would be a good fit. I would ask if the therapist sees this as a long term issue or shorter term.
