BS: Public Relations, Communications, Cal Poly Pomona

Approximately $100 per hour. See www.myedyn.com
How did you get started in this business?
Personal experience that traumatized me regarding an affair.
What types of customers have you worked with?
My practice is comprised of individuals facing challenges in relationships. Issues with Communication, Infidelity and Parenting concerns and challenges, including emotional disturbance, addiction and emotional disregulation are what I deal with most.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My group therapy sessions are growing so rapidly that I need to purchase more chairs. Participants were on the floor on our last session and it is inspiring to see so many people seeking help through group therapy.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I strngly believe in interviewing at least 3 therapists. Look for a therapist that specializes in the issue you are needing help with. We specialize in the field we are most passionate about. Keep that in mind and remember, your intuition is important. If you don't connect with your therapist, find a new one. You need to feel comfortable so you can be open and facilitate healing in your life. If you have fear or are concerned about judgement, the process will be less productive than it should be.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Share the issues that are most important to you during the interview process. If you are not excited to meet the therapist, and if you don't get the feeling that there is hope after the interview is complete, you need to keep interviewing.
Therapy is personal, like your love for music. Therapy is an art form and each therapist will feel different in their approach to the issues you bring to the table. In music, you prefer certain musicians or bands to others. In therapy, you will prefer certain therapists to others. I hope that this example helps you in your search!
