Kindman & Company
About
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist trained in Relational Gestalt. After spending the past 9 years working in a wide variety of treatment settings (community mental health, substance misuse, public health, homeless services, and community mentoring), I have started a group private practice along with my wife, who is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I work with adult individuals and intimate relationships. My approach is non-pathologizing. I work with my clients to build awareness of their experience and find the context(s) in which their unwanted symptoms and behaviors make perfect sense. From this shift in perspective, my clients begin to experience change. I am particularly interested in exploring the harms of traditional stories of masculinity and cultivating a path for male-identified clients toward more vulnerability and deeper intimacy.
Together we will walk alongside one another with curiosity, warmth, and empathy - the conditions needed to foster more authenticity. We will invite vulnerability to inspire movement. We will also celebrate joys and share laughs together, as I believe humor can offer us great perspective and help us to access our more resilient selves.
