Katie Rom Hisel, LMFT
About
Each person is unique and there is no "one-size fits all" when it comes to therapy. My approach to counseling is unique to each clients goals and challenges. I have a master's degree in counseling psychology and am licensed in the state of California. I also have advanced training in trauma and dissociation and am a member of ISTSS. My approach to counseling is generally psychodynamic. I believe that our early life experiences shape the lens through which we view the world and through increased awareness and insight we can promote lasting change. However, I also have experience in CBT, Solution-Focused, Motivational Interviewing, and career counseling. I have also completed training in Play Therapy that I utilize in child therapy.
I truly care for all of my clients, and work diligently to help find them the answers they seek. I believe that all people should be allowed the opportunity for self-discovery and fulfillment. Since 2014, I have worked with a variety of clients dealing with circumstances that are unique to their lives.
