Robert Goodyear is an innovative and experienced CxO with a rich history of building, leading and motivating teams to solve problems. A lateral thinker and strategic leader with multidisciplinary skills to help launch, sustain or grow consumer-focused businesses, he provides operational and strategic advice in the product, marketing and technology disciplines.

As the CEO and founder of Brand Up, a technology-forward consumer engagement consultancy in San Francisco and Los Angeles, Robert leverages more than 28 years of strategic planning and direction in the marketing communications industry. Prior to forming Brand Up, Robert spent many years at various Young & Rubicam companies, most recently as Vice President, Director of Strategic Planning at Y&R’s Wunderman agency. He managed the development of products and services – both online and traditional – to extend and enhance the brands of Fortune-500 clients including SONY, Sears, Mattel, Kraft, Monsanto, Land Rover, Jaguar, Lincoln Mercury, Norwegian Cruise Lines and many others.

Modern times have inspired Rob’s nerdy-techy-mad scientist side to run wild designing and deploying solutions at the crossroads of new media and hard tech. He is the sole author of the SocketCloud (RFC 2782) DNS-SD protocol, providing real-time presence and state awareness for distributed microservices across multi-cloud architectures. He also authored The Web Professional's Handbook (Apress, 2003) back when people actually bought and read books.

Robert advises numerous technology companies, focused on consumer engagement, retention and lifetime value in the communications, gaming, entertainment and biotechnology sectors.
