Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We will meet our clients at any location including: home, office or business. We scheudule a free one-hour consultations for accounting and payroll clients. First we meet and listen to your needs and wants. We present our suggestions for service(s) and explain exactly what services we recommend and what they would cost you.
For taxes you call and tell us about your tax situation and we will quote you the price of your return. If you like the price you can go ahead and schedule your in-home or office interview or we also offer phone and Skype for those who have busy schedules. Our taxes are 100% CPA prepared, with no outsourcing; and we do both business and individual taxes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All our staff hold a minimum bachelor's degree in Accounting, as well as a minimum 10+ years’ experience working in the private business sector. We all hold certifications in QuickBooks and other accounting software. We have an in-house CPA who completes all business tax returns and provides tax assistance with IRS and tax planning.
We have partners who are experts in Sales Taxes, Real Estate and Audits. We have also partnered with a family of Attorneys who specializing in Bankruptcy and work hand-in-hand with us to resolve your financial problems.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Our hourly rates are highly competitive and we are always lower than our competitors and walk-in tax services. Nonetheless, we offer CPA-level work with required and as oversight; but use our seasoned staff accountants to do most of the hands-on work as a way to keep our costs low for our clients besides they are usually better at software and bookkeping methods.
How did you get started in this business?
My partner Darren and I both worked at the same mid-size CPA firm in Newport Beach. We decided to open up our own Accounting Consultancy as we found many people in search of quality and professional accounting and tax services could not afford the rates of most CPA firms.
In short, we don't maintain a large staff and we don't believe in group work as all our clients get one contact for their account. We do this so our clients receive only consistent and high-level quality service. It also means we don't have to maintain a support a staff and pay office overhead which is why accounting firms charge a lot more than we do.
In summation, we spend little or no time resolving client issues or any time on collecting our accounts as we are very good at what we do; which keeps our overhead costs and time spent on internal company processes very low. It also helps that we give our clients our cell phones so they can get a live peson when they need one.
What types of customers have you worked with?
It would take too long to list. I can't think of one service or industry that we haven't performed accounting or tax work for.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Getting this invite from you.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Write down your questions before you meet with your accountant. When you meet, if they can't answer most, if not all your questions, quickly and knowledably, then they are likely not going to be a good choice. Also, get the rates of service up front and like an auto repair...get an estimate.
