My name is Dr. Stephen Svastits, DC. I am a chiropractor for 20+ years servicing So. Cal. I have a sports medicine and rehab certification background to help get patients better fast. I provide treatment for auto and motorcycle injuries, slip & fall injuries, recreational and sports injuries and family wellness care. Our office has digital x-rays for fast on-site x-rays and the DRX9000 spinal decompression machine for the non-surgical treatment of lumbar disc herniations. We use physiotherapy modalities and mechanical traction tables & chairs to help relieve your muscle spasms and pain faster. We have a certified massage therapist on staff as an integral part of your treatment in our office. Our friendly and professional bi-lingual staff can help you with all your requests. We provide treatment for accident victims on a lien basis through their attorney.
I enjoy getting patients out of pain and getting them back to normal function again. I enjoy helping to re-educate people towards a mindset of health and wellness so they and their families can live a more active and fulfilled life through chiropractic health care. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Patients calls our office to be seen by Dr. "Steve" Svastits. Visits are by 30 minute appointments only. Patient comes in and fills out patient intake forms (5-10 mins). Patient is then seen by Dr. Steve for chiropractic treatment. A treatment plan is then discussed with the patient. X-rays may need to be taken if Dr. Steve finds it necessary.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Doctor of Chiropractic degree (D.C.) at the Southern California University of Health Sciences in 1993. A total of 9 years of undergraduate and graduate education for Dr. Svastits. Also has certified training in chiropractic sports medicine and spinal trauma.

Dr. Steve has very reasonable fees. Chiropractic office visit is typically $60. Spinal decompression to lumbar or cervical spine is $80 per visit.
How did you get started in this business?
I had low back surgery after a sports injury when I was 20 years old. Post-surgical rehab was not successful. I lived in pain for many years until I saw my first chiropractor in my early 20's. He got me out of pain within a few visits and I found it to be a miracle. I continued to get maintenance care monthly and aspired to become a chiropractor. So I went back to college at 28 years old and started my journey to become a chiropractor. I wanted to get people out of pain like I was in for years and help them regain function so they can live normal and healthy lives again.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All types. From students to professionals, from receptionist to contractors, from business owners to company executives. It doesn't matter who you are, aches and pains happen from slip & falls, sleeping wrong, strenuous work, being over worked, auto & motorcycle accidents, etc. We care for anyone that wants to get out of pain and have normal function again.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently a woman came in complaining of hip and back pain that has never gone away. Found out she had a slip & fall injury that happened 10 years ago in her bath tub. Never saw a chiropractor, only got pain meds from her MD. Her symptoms never fully went away and she had flare-ups 2-3 times per year. She re-visited her MD for more pain meds as needed. Finally she came in to see me, walking with a limp. X-rays revealed that a few of her lumbar vertebra were twisted. Her hip looked fine. I gently realigned her lumbar spine and asked her to come back 2 more times over the next 2 weeks. Back and hip pain were gone by the last visit (3 visits). No more pain meds to take and no more limping. Happy patient!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Find a chiropractor that will listen to you, then give you a definitive diagnosis. Make sure he/she examines you and can reproduce the pain you are experiencing. X-rays may be necessary, so make sure they can order one. Physiotherapy modalities in their office will help control muscle spasms and decrease pain levels. Don't settle for anything less.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Here are some questions every patient should consider asking a chiropractic office they may get treatment with. What will each visit cost? Will I need x-rays? How many visits will I need? What is included in my treatment plan? Will I need to take supplements as part of my treatment plan? What will my total treatment plan cost? Do you have physiotherapy modalities on-site? Is there a massage therapist on-site or will one be recommended for me? What other services are not in my treatment plan that I will be charged for? Will I need an MRI and how much would an MRI cost me?
