My position as life coach is not to be a therapist, but rather, a guide. I share with each client the tools that I have at my disposal that will best help them find the path that works for them. Whether they are looking for guidance with their relationships, time management, or health, I can be there for them every step of the way.
I received my core training as a life coach through Southwest Institute of Healing Arts, and since then have been supplementing that knowledge with the occasional workshop so that I can keep up with current trends and always stay knowledgeable and focused.
I love helping others and seeing them shine once they realize their full potential. It is my belief that true health depends not just on the phyical body, but also on finding your proper mental, emotional, and spiritual alignment, and it's amazing to watch the transformation that can occur once all of those things start falling into place. That is why I do what I do.
Amanda Starn is both encouraging and no-nonsense. She supports you in a way that makes you feel loved and validated, while still encouraging positive changes. I wouldn't be who I am today without her.
My first step is to get to know the client, what they're looking for/their needs, and - if applicable - the timeline they have set for themself. From there, we can work together to find an action plan that works best for them. Some people prefer to set appointments on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis (and this can change throughout the process), whereas others do best with a consultation and follow-up appointment and then continue through emails and phone calls as needed.
The initial consultation is predominantly aimed at the client's level of satisfaction with various aspects of their lives, and then deciding on which areas they would like to focus and what changes they are planning to make. From there, I take the information I have gathered and use it to help me determine which tools to utilize for the best results. Follow-up appointments are scheduled to put these tools into practice, set goals, discuss setbacks (and solutions) as they arise, and maintain motivation.
I received my core training through the life coaching program at Southwest Institute of Healing Arts, and since finishing, have been supplementing that training with various workshops and coaching programs.
Consultation appointments are priced at $50, and can last up to two hours. Pricing for scheduled follow-up appointments or on-demand services varies based on each individual's needs. Typically, follow-up appointments are priced at $110 per hour, but packages are available (charged all at once or on a monthly payment plan) to bring costs down for those that need it.
I started out as a massage therapist. However, after learning more about all of the various contributors to "whole-life" health (not just physical, but also mental, emotional, and spiritual), I realized that I wanted to help people with more than just their muscles. Adding life coaching to my repertoir moved my practice in a more fully-holistic direction and provided a way for to help my clients reach their full potential in every aspect of their whole-life health.
So far, the marjority of my clients have been younger adults who wanted help with educational and career goals, though I have worked with others who are on paths to better physical health or looking for ways to improve their relationships.
