I fell in love with Psychology while studying pre-med at NYU many years ago. After considering Neurospychology I determined to pursue a career in Clinical Psychology and proceeded on to my Doctoral program at St. John’s University. Committed to always evolving and growing, my career has taken many turns, including Media work, mental health advocacy and lobbying in both NYS and in Washington, DC. I’ve been an Adjunct Professor and I have been active in both The American Psychological Association and the state Psychological Association, serving as President of the latter in 2000. Most importantly though, I’ve owned and operated a Private Practice since 1991 in Manhattan, Forest Hills, NY and in La Jolla California since 2002. Since my move to California my primary focus has been on patient/client care, translating my passion for growth and change into newer and better techniques for the benefit of those who cross my steps!
I have worked with gender diverse people aged 3 1/2 to 93 1/2. In my current practice I work with teens and older. La Jolla Counseling and Psychotherapy is a general practice and I am very open with regards to the type of client that I enjoy working with.
I attended a Continuing Education workshop in Costa Rica on the subject of The Neurobiology of Mindfulness by world renown expert (and really nice guy) Dr. Ron Siegel. The location, the content and the people all made for a terrific experience and one that I can use in my practice!
